You Need A Good Weekender Bag

Disclaimer: Oak & Rove was kind enough to send The Peak Lapel these bags for free for the purposes of this honest review.

Sure, we might not be traveling much these days, but a good weekender bag is still essential for every gentleman. One day, we’ll get back out there, and there’s never been a better time to pick up a great weekender bag than right now. There are tons of options out there, but a newcomer we recently came across is Oak & Rove. They seem to be coming in right at that middle point between luxury and affordability, which is our sweet spot!

At $379 for their Kennedy Weekender Bag, it’s not cheap by any means. But we have seen bags similar to this double or triple the price, as well. And we can vouch for the quality here. All the materials are top notch, and all the finishings and details are there. It’s well-made and sturdy, and there is clear attention to detail present. This things feels like it is built to last a long time. It is admittedly stiff at first use (the zippers included) but this will likely break in with time. It did a wondrous job lugging things back and forth recently as I moved between two locations, so this thing is a work-horse, no question.

It’s essential for a gentleman to be able to travel in style, and efficiently with a proper bag. This is made, top to bottom, for weekend getaways. It’s enough room for a few changes of clothes, toiletries (they have a solid Dopp kit too), and a pair of shoes. Every guy needs a bag like this, and this one is super solid, sturdy, and going to last you many years to come. Is it the best looking bag on the market? Perhaps not (we prefer leather), but the solid materials here offer something different — a kind of ruggedness we have not seen in a bag like this in some time. If you’re in the market for a weekender — and if you don’t have one yet, like we said, you should be! — this is a more than excellent option.
