User “mach4potato” on Reddit recently had a fantastic post in which he challenged the r/frugalmalefashion community to put together the most fashionable outfit they could — for under $175. I figured why not take a crack at it? Here is something great, and somewhat trendy even, that you can put together for less than that amount of money: let’s call it the “Dress Shirt? Nah” — the perfect outfit to wear over this long weekend.
J Crew Factory Chino blazer — $37.49 w/ code ‘DELISH’: Featured just the other day in our sales selections, this is a fantastic price for a generally versatile blazer. It’s trendy and fashion-forward without being too “out there.”
H&M Slim black jeans — $29.99: Something every guy should have in his wardrobe. The sort of thing that can kick any outfit a few notches up. A true staple, here at a good price.
Banana Republic waffle knit crew — $29.70: I really love these things. I think they are a notch above just a regular long sleeve tee in terms of dressiness, and make you look even more put together, without sacrificing any comfort. Plus, they’ll keep you warmer as the colder months approach. Ditch the blazer, and you’ve got a great casual Sunday outfit, too.

Adidas Stan Smith in white — $59.99: Perhaps a little bit too popular, this shoe is much loved for a reason. It’s very versatile, can easily be your go-to white sneaker (something that goes with almost any outfit imaginable), is substantial feeling, and lasts quite a while. It’s the sort of sneaker that every guy should own, is at a great price right here, and perfectly finishes off an outfit like this one.
