It’s no secret that scent is one of the most important “accessories” to any outfit. In truth, no outfit is complete without it. Of course, not every guy opts for cologne per se, but imagine not wearing deodorant at all. See? Scent is important. The same way with clothes, scent is either working for you or against you. If you are a gentleman who likes to spray a nice scent on from time to time — or every day for that matter — than you’re going to want to check out Guy Fox for sure.
The premise is simple enough. They offer six different scents, and you can get samples of them sent to you for free so you can decide which one you like the most. Then, you can place an order for the one you like for just $50. For 50ml of cologne, this is a pretty solid deal. It’s not cheap by any means, but for a quality cologne, which this is, that is very, very reasonable.
I tested all six scents and ended up liking “Marra” the most. (I did also like Hermis a lot as well!) The Marra scent has some nice citrus notes to it, as well as a base of oak and musk, which gives the whole thing a wonderfully “forrest-y” scent in the best way possible. In many ways, it smells like a “basic” cologne from the likes of Ralph Lauren, but punched up a level or two. It’s really quite excellent and I have gotten many compliments on it in the few days I have worn it recently alone.
The bottle itself — a large part of the cologne experience — is also quite nice. It’s sleek, clean, and minimalistic. (It should be noted though that we did have an issue with the bottle at first. It did not spray and the mechanism was broken. Guy Fox was quick to replace the bottle though. They had never heard of this issue before, so leave it to us to get “lucky”.) You can also have your name, or a friend’s, printed on the front instead of the usual name. This is a cool idea and would make for a great gift. It’s a bit expensive, but it really would make for a super cool and unique gift. I am not familiar of other places offering anything similar.
In all, Guy Fox is a great option for cologne if you’re looking for a new, fresh, unique scent that is sure to get you some compliments.
