A New Contender In The Subscription Box Space?!?!: A Review Of All He Loves

Disclaimer: All He Loves was kind enough to send The Peak Lapel this box for free for the purposes of this review.

Well, here we go yet again! Another contender steps into the ring of subscription boxes for men. Our current favorite is the Best Stuff Box by GQ, with Bespoke Post being a super close second. (You can read more about all of that here.) And now, enter All He Loves. When they first reached out to us I was a bit hesitant that any new company in this space could actually compete in any meaningful way, or do a good job with their boxes. But, I have to say, I am quite impressed with what I found. So, let’s get into it.

All He Loves is following in the steps of Bespoke Post most closely, from what we can see (though you can choose what box you want with Bespoke Post while here you get what you get). Each month is a themed box. Think: camping, coffee, drinks, hiking, and so on. All the items within the box revolve, in one way or another, around that theme. This is quite different from most competitors who just do random items, and a typical tie and pair of socks. We much prefer the theme idea, which means that each month is something new, and interesting and different that you would not otherwise have purchased, but that there is a very high chance you will like.

Ultimately, the risk with any subscription box is just that — that you might not like what you get. That’s why we tend to review these services for at least 3 months to make sure it is consistently providing good products that you will like and use. This is just the first review, and there are more to come as they arrive. So far, though, we’re very impressed, and really like the items provided. The first box we got was the Drink-ware Box which goes for $47 now that it is no longer this month’s box. Here is what was inside…

The Beast Tumbler ($22): This was actually an item that I already owned! That is how spot on this item was. I used it almost every day to make iced coffee, and I am super happy to now have a backup as well. It is very sturdy, keeps drinks cold or hot for quite a long time, and comes with more than one straw in different shapes, and a straw cleaner as well. Love this thing… And, of course, it comes in the great black color that you see in the photos, which is also the one that I personally went for.

HyperChiller ($30): This is a little contraption in which you freeze some water, then freeze some more, and then create a space where you can pour a beverage into it to rapidly cool it down and make it cold. I was dubious that this would work but was pleasantly surprised. This works very well, and it has changed how I make coffee sometimes, knowing that I don’t need to dilute my iced coffee with ice cubes but can instead flash freeze it with this chiller. You keep it in your freezer, pour your hot beverage in the top, swirl it around a bunch of times, and then pour it out the spout. A quick rinse, and it goes back in the freezer. Pretty low maintenance, and, like I said, works surprisingly well. Very cool. Pun intended.

NEAT Whiskey Glasses ($22): Not too much to say here, but they feel solid, and look super cool, and are great glasses for tasting and sipping a nice scotch from.

Value & Conclusion

All He Loves Subscription Box — $32 - $45 per month: If this box is anything to go by, this is an excellent value. For $45 you get much more than that in value. I paid the $22 for this tumbler many months ago. For double that amount I would have gotten the chiller and the glasses as well. As we always say, the key is the curation. Just to get a tie and socks every month is not worth the money. To get this I would not have bought on my own, but am super happy to now have — that is the ideal. And so far, they hit the mark spot on. Their pricing is a bit confusing with a standard and advanced plan, the latter getting two more items in the box than the former, but the pricing itself is either a bit below, or right on par with what Bespoke Post or GQ charge for their boxes. Their site is also not very nice to look at, nor is their branding as snappy as some of the other players in this space. But don’t let that turn you off. So far, so very, very good. Let’s see how the next month’s box turns out! As of now, All He Loves is an excellent option if you’re looking for a great men’s subscription box!
